Benny and Mo, 17- and 18-year-old cats have lived together for most of their lives, and are best friends. Their life together sadly ended when their owner passed away and left them in the care of the RSPCA. The two senior cats are looking for a new home together because, after all these years, they could not be separated.
The sweet senior cats arrived in the care of the RSPCA and were incredibly nervous and sad. They had just lost their loving owner had just died and were taken away from their home. The change was a bit too much for them to handle. They had each other to lean on, and slowly, they began to warm up to life in the shelter.
“Benny is very loving and loves a fuss, though not as much as Mo, who can try and steal the limelight a bit,” Sue James, cattery supervisor at the RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Center, said. “Mo absolutely loves being brushed and fussed. Benny has found all the changes since his owner passed away quite scary and is looking forward to a cozy house to relax in.”
Benny and Mo have, unfortunately, been at the shelter since August, and have had no potential adopters show any interest in them.
Despite Benny and Mo being on the older side, they’re still playful and active, and as sweet as can be. They have lost a lot this year, and need a family to love them. They would make the best additions to any family and just need a chance to prove it.
“In human years these friendly cats would be in their 80s, but despite their senior years, they are still very bright and agile,” James said.
The two senior cats will do best in a home where they are the only pets. They could live with teenagers or older children, but younger children would be a bit too much for these golden oldies. They would love to be able to go outside from time to time, but they’d just like a quiet home where they could live out the rest of their years in peace together.
