Giant Dog About To Be Put Down For “Scary Looks” Gets Second Chance From Rescuers
Loki, is an 8-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff, was taken in by animal control after his owner was evicted from their apartment. Being a very large dog, he can look a little scary upon first glance.
Animal control had shot him with a dart gun when they saw him. They took him to the shelter.
Just two days after arriving, Loki was scheduled to be put down without being given a chance. Luckily, his former owner heard and came in to tell them how Loki’s looks are deceiving, and that he’s really just a gentle giant.
But Loki was also suffering at the shelter. He had no one to play with, couldn’t take walks and needed medical care. That’s when Rescue Dogs Rock NYC stepped in to help…
The rescuers were afraid of him at first, but he quickly won them over. As more and more people came in contact with him, he proved how loving and sweet he really is.
Loki was treated was ear infections, skin infection and heartworm. Once the adoption application was done, his new parents were on their way!
Don’t they look happy together? ?
Loki is the perfect example of why you should never judge a book by its cover!
