Pregnant Panda Gives Birth On Camera, But When She Lifts Paw To Reveal Baby, Keepers Sob
According to the World Wildlife Foundation, there are only 1,864 giant pandas remaining in the wild.
In an effort to save this beautiful endangered species, experts are working hard to help breed the bears before they go extinct, especially since pandas have difficulty giving birth in captivity. That’s why the following video has gone massively viral, marking a breathtaking and rare event for the Animal Kingdom.
In the wee hours of the morning, Hao Hao, a panda at the Paira Daiza Zoo in Belgium, delivered her miracle baby. This single birth marked an incredibly beautiful and rare event.
For two years straight, the zoo hosted Hao Hao and her mate Xing Hui. In partnership with experts from China, artificial insemination successfully impregnated the proud mama bear.
At first, Hao Hao kept her baby nestled in her furry arms, shielding him from the rest of the world. But when she finally revealed him to her caretakers, they saw he was an adorable hairless cub who weighed about six oz. and resembled a “little pink sausage.”
Incredible footage of Hao Hao cradling and washing her baby took the internet by storm. But no one was more emotional than the staff that worked so hard to help make it all possible. In fact, her caretakers began crying at the first sight of Hao Hao and her baby.
