Husband Cheers Up His Depressed Wife With A New Kitten
After Imgur user mraeronautic and his wife suffered a miscarriage a few months ago, she was devastated. She spent the next several weeks feeling down and depressed. Her husband did everything to try and make her feel better, but nothing worked…until he enlisted the help of little Callie!
“I saw that a shelter in another town had brought this little girl in after her mother was killed,” he wrote on Imgur. “Her face and her eyes just brought a calmness over me and I thought she might make my wife feel the same.”
He said the orphaned kitten had to be bottle fed until she could eat on her own, and said that she is “an absolute sweetheart” and he “had to take her home.”
Callie didn’t like being in her carrier in the car, so she spent most of the hour-and-a-half ride on her new dad’s lap!
When the husband brought their new kitten home, his wife was elated. And it seemed that this intuitive kitten knew that her new mom needed her.
“She and Callie bonded immediately,” he wrote. “Callie is constantly snuggled up to her momma and sleeps tucked up to her stomach at night.”
“We have had her for 5 days now an I haven’t seen my wife this happy in a long time,” he said.
Her humans immediately fell in love with Callie and she quickly made herself at home. Callie loves to sleep stretched out on her back, and perches on the highest point she can find in each room as if watching over her forever family.
Not long after they adopted Callie, this loving couple got even more good news!
“This morning I was cleaning the litter box and got a tap on the shoulder. When I turned around, my wife had this pregnancy test and the biggest smile on her face,” the husband wrote. “Little Callie is going to be a sister!”
“I don’t know what it is about this cat but I can just tell that with her, everything is going to be ok. Things are looking up!” he said.
Look at the beautiful face!
