Cat, Obsessed With The Water Flow, Gets Himself Into Serious Trouble
Sam, a two-year-old cat can always be found sitting on the kitchen sink waiting for the water flow! He decided to follow the water flow and stuck his head in the drain…
…and his head got stuck! Sam’s family immediately jumped into action to try to get him out. After two painstaking hours, they took apart the garbage disposal, and still couldn’t get him out! That’s when they had no choice but to call for help.
“At that point, we had destroyed the garbage disposal so Sam’s head was exposed,” Lynn Naimoli, Sam’s mom said. “I called the police because I hoped that animal control would be available.”
When Sergeant Brian Hughes, with the Tredyffrin Township Police Department in Pennsylvania, showed up, he had tools and coconut oil with him. By that time, Sam was clearly stressed out and tired from the ordeal.
Hughes disassembled the drain, which was still stuck around the cat’s neck. and after an hour of additional tinkering, Sam was finally freed.
Besides being a bit soaked and greasy from the coconut oil, Sam was otherwise unaffected by the nightmare and has even started lurking around the sink again.
“He is fine now, but has been trying to find the ‘monster’ who pulled him in,” Naimoli said. “He is curious about everything. Sometimes he opens the cabinets and just sits inside.”
The family has a newly-installed garbage disposal that is “cat-proof” so Sam won’t be venturing down there again anytime soon.
