Man Drives 20 Hours To Get A Kiss From His Dog That He Thought Was Dead
Dogs have an uncanny way of finding their way home.
The movie Homeward Bound was one of my favorite movies as a child, but the older I got, the more the premise seemed to be another farfetched kids’ movie. How can dogs have any idea how to find their owners?
Much like the animals in the movie, Kali had her own version of a homeward journey. After being swept away from rapids in Ontario, her family feared the worst.
The Kareken family was on vacation at Canada’s Quetico Provincial Park when Kali went missing. They looked for Kali for hours, but couldn’t find any trace of her. It was a heartbreaking moment for them.
Sure that their beloved pet had died in the water, David Kareken and his family headed home to North Carolina. But nearly two weeks later, they got the best possible news: Kali had survived and was looking for them.
Park officials called David to let him know after Kali surprised a group of campers at the site. David drove 20 hours straight to reunite with his girl. The moment she sees him, she is all smiles!
