How Waggel's Biscuit Rewards Work: PitPat, Points and Perks Explained

For a cat owner, the quickest answer is that a Waggel cat policy does not come with Biscuit Plus or a PitPat activity monitor. Treat the cat package as having no rewards scheme or cat version of Biscuit Plus unless current terms say otherwise. Cats are not excluded from every policy-linked service, however: they receive the same service categories as dogs, including Joii video-vet calls, Companion Animal Wellness consultations and an assigned representative described as a qualified veterinary nurse. The discussion below places Waggel's dog-only Biscuit rewards and policy-linked services in the context of the UK pet insurance market.

The position is different for an eligible dog. Every eligible Waggel dog policy includes Biscuit Plus at no separately stated cost, combining the insurance with separate services and rewards access. The membership brings a PitPat monitor, a sign-up bonus and a five-times points multiplier. Those extras can be assessed for their likely usefulness, but they are distinct from the insurance contract.

Will the same package still be there at renewal?

Inclusion with an eligible policy describes the package currently stated; it does not establish that access, devices, partners or values will remain unchanged. Reward terms can change, so someone relying on continued access should check the live scheme terms at renewal as well as when joining. Check the current options before assuming Biscuit Plus is the rewards scheme’s only membership tier.

That uncertainty does not extend the other way into insured cover. If Biscuit Plus changed or was suspended, the underlying dog insurance would remain unchanged. This makes duration a membership question rather than a promise about the insurance: a renewed policy and the rewards available alongside it need to be read separately.

What cat and dog policyholders can still use

Across both cat and dog policies, the shared services are described more specifically. Joii video-vet calls are unlimited. Companion Animal Wellness provides nutrition and behaviour consultations. Each policy also includes an assigned Customer Champion, whom Waggel describes as a qualified veterinary nurse. For cats, these are the membership-service categories that remain available even though Biscuit Plus, PitPat and a cat rewards programme are not part of the package described here. Access to a consultation describes the service available; it does not establish that treatment recommended afterwards will be covered by insurance.

A tracker does not complete the points equation

For eligible Biscuit Plus members, the PitPat monitor is supplied without another stated charge and is described as tracking activity. Do not assume that tracked activity changes the member’s points balance. Do not treat steps, movement or activity goals as an earning rule unless current scheme terms expressly say they earn points. PitPat is the sole rewards partner in the package described here; current terms may include others.

The five-times headline is an earning multiplier, but there is no stated base rate to multiply. There is also no points-to-currency conversion, no redemption catalogue and no identification of the rewards or purchases available for points. The sign-up bonus is confirmed, yet neither its points amount nor its cash value is given. A cash-return, points-per-pound or annual-points estimate cannot be derived from this information.

The yearly value depends on actual use

Waggel says the Biscuit Plus bundle can provide perks worth up to approximately £150 per year. This is an upper limit across the bundle, not a fixed return, guaranteed saving or cash payment. Nor does it allocate that amount between the monitor, bonus and points. Realised value depends on which benefits a member uses, so an owner interested only in the tracker may judge it differently from someone who expects to redeem rewards as well.

Where membership stops and insurance starts

Biscuit Plus, Joii, Companion Animal Wellness and the Customer Champion are membership extras rather than insured policy cover. A video call, consultation or nurse representative can provide access or support, but none creates another vet-fee allowance. Equally, having the membership, wearing the monitor or earning rewards does not alter how an insurance claim is assessed.

For a dog owner, the practical assessment is therefore about expected use: whether the monitor is wanted, whether the unquantified points system is likely to be used and whether an up-to bundle valuation feels meaningful. A cat owner can assess the shared calls, consultations and representative without attributing value to dog-only rewards. In either case, insurance limits, exclusions and claim decisions stand on their own, while membership access and value remain subject to the current scheme terms.
