According to a recent Finnish study, babies who grow up with dogs are less likely to develop colds, illnesses and a variety of respiratory infections. If your baby spends time playing outside with their furry four-legged friend, the study will show that those babies might have stronger immunity because they are exposed to a variety of germs versus a baby who spends most of their time indoors.
“It might have something to do with dirt brought inside by the dogs, especially since the strongest protective effect was seen with children living in houses where dogs spent a lot of time outside,” said Dr. Eija Bergroth, a pediatrician at Kuopio University Hospital in Finland.
