Animal Rescue Group Builds Adorable Private Cottages For Shelter Dogs
The Luvable Dog Rescue in Oregon knows how difficult it is for shelter pups. They built their pups private cottages! The shelter was already a pooch paradise having 55 acres of land with forests, meadows, and hiking trails, all for their four-legged friends. The new cottages took this shelter, to the next level, with each canine having indoor and outdoor space to himself.
The interior of the cottages has furniture, paintings, and anything else to make it look like a typical home. This way, the staff can see how the doggies behave in the cottages and will get a feeling of how they would act in their future owners’ house.
Liesl Wilhardt, Executive Director of Luvable Dog Rescue, is one of the main people behind this project. Ever since she was a little girl, she had a particular fondness towards pit bulls. Wilhardt has recently built a “pit bull palace” for the bigger pups and is planning to build a maternity ward for doggie moms with their newborns.
Being a shelter dog is tough, so one shelter built their pups private cottages where doggies can be extra comfortable.

When staff see how the doggies behave in their cottages, they know how they would act in their future owners’ house.
So cottages allow employees to make better recommendations for potential adoptors.
