Owners Want Their Cat Put Down For Behaving Like A Kitten
Odin was barely a year old when his family brought him to a local shelter. They said they didn’t like his attitude, he was too energetic and had behavioral problems. They didn’t want him anymore and even asked the shelter if they would put him down.
“The shelter was appalled at the idea of someone wanting to put down a kitten just for being a kitten,” Alaina, Odin’s new mom said. “Instead, the shelter took him at that time.”
Odin had obviously been neglected and had a severely infected eye when he was taken in by the shelter. The infection was causing him an intense amount of pain, and eventually, the shelter decided the best thing to do would be to remove it, and so sweet Odin became a one-eyed cat.
The shelter knew that Odin would make an incredible cat for any lucky family despite his missing eye and his rough past. He temporarily went to live with a woman who worked at a vet clinic who couldn’t keep him and that’s how his future mom found out about him.
“I just knew from my roommate that her friend had a ragdoll who was missing an eye that needed a home,” Alaina said. “So we met him and were told the story of him. It was so upsetting to hear what he had dealt with, and the love he needed going forward. We decided to adopt him and bring him into our family.”
Alaina new right away that Odin was a sweet cat, and just needed someone who would give him a chance. As soon as she met him she knew that he was meant to be in her family. Alaina immediately brought him home, knowing what his former family had said about him. Because he was missing an eye, Alaina wasn’t sure how Odin would adjust to life in his new home. It didn’t take long before Odin proved himself to be a perfect pet.
“He’s a big lounger, especially near the screen door,” Alaina said. “He likes to look out and see what’s going on, and you’ll see him in multiple windows checking out birds. He also surprisingly likes to hop in the shower with you and take one himself! He’s very quirky. Overall, he’s a big sweet fluffy baby.”
Odin’s new family absolutely loves him, and can’t believe anyone would give him up. Having only one eye doesn’t seem to slow Odin down at all!
Sweet Odin has thankfully found the best family who loves him for exactly who he is.
