The older a dog gets, the less likely it is to be adopted. So, a shelter dog‘s age, the odds of them finding a good home become more and slimmer.
People tend to want puppies when looking for a new dog for their family. The younger the dog, the easier it will be to train and the longer amount of time you get to spend with them as they grow old.
It’s a very common train of thought, and it makes sense to think about bringing home a new dog in this way.
However, this leaves plenty of wonderful animals without a home simply because they didn’t get a great start in life.
But, as anyone who’s adopted a dog rather than a puppy will tell you, there is so much these animals can offer a family. They’re more mature and the wildness of puppyhood is gone, leaving them more composed and relaxed.
